2018 Blanc de Noir

Produced in limited quantities using the intricate méthode traditionnelle process, our Blanc de Noir is a white sparkling wine made from “black” Pinot Noir grapes. Aged a minimum of three years on the lees, our Blanc de Noir embodies fruity fleshiness with full body and texture. A favorite among many since our first vintage in 1991 when we were one of the first domestic producers to experiment with a Blanc de Noir, this wine is available exclusively at the winery.

Tasting Notes
Our 2018 Blanc de Noir opens up with wonderful notes of poached pear, fresh flowers, graham cracker, honeydew melon, and green apple. Soft, round, and thought provoking, this wine presents a generous mousse. Th e palate continues to entice with warm honey accompanied by flavors of white cherry, raspberry, lychee, and a hint of toastiness. There is a deep complexity that is rich and creamy due to the extended aging.
Vineyard Notes
2018 had the coolest temperatures we had seen since 2011, allowing an extended hang time for the fruit and longer flavor development. Additionally, replenished reservoirs and healthy vineyards from the abundant rains of the previous vintage allowed for a larger than normal crop. These elements translate to the perfect combination of a high-yield and high-quality vintage that winemakers dream about.
Food Pairing Notes
We suggest pairing this wine with a lamb burger with caramelized onions, seared seabass, or pork chop with a white wine sauce.
