2017 Blanc de Noir Sparkling Magnum (1.5-Liter)

Produced in limited quantities using the intricate méthode traditionnelle process, our Blanc de Noir is a white sparkling wine made from “black” Pinot Noir grapes. Aged a minimum of three years on the lees, our Blanc de Noir embodies fruity fleshiness with full body and texture. A favorite among many since our first vintage in 1991 when we were one of the first domestic producers to experiment with a Blanc de Noir, this wine is available exclusively at the winery.
Our popular Blanc de Noir in a 1.5 liter format is ideal for small dinner parties and events. 1.5L will pour approximately ten 5 oz. glasses.

Tasting Notes
Our 2017 Blanc de Noir opens up with wonderful notes of baked apple, white cherry, graham cracker, and lychee. Soft, round, and thought provoking, this wine presents a generous mousse. The palate continues to entice with more cherry accompanied by flavors of white peaches, honeydew melon, and tangerine. There is a deep complexity that is rich and creamy due to the extended aging.
Vineyard Notes
In 2017, Carneros was gifted with its third wettest winter in 125 years, refilling reservoirs and aquifers that had been depleted in the previous drought years. Happy vines developed healthy canopies which tempered the higher-than-average temperatures and brief heat spikes that characterized the growing season. Harvest began on August 7th, a fairly typical start date in Carneros. The resulting wines show beautiful depth, concentration, and freshness.
Food Pairing Notes
We suggest enjoying this wine with a lamb burger, seared seabass, or mushroom risotto. This wine is well balanced between both the fruity and floral notes pair nicely with a fruit tart.
