Our Rosé of Pinot Noir has returned in time for summer! Bright, refreshing, and simply gorgeous, the delicate nose on this wine offers orange blossom, nectarine, and white tea. It evokes lively fruit flavors and moves with crispness across the palate. One finds Wild Maine strawberry, wet stone, dried sage, watermelon, and mandarin orange. This wine evokes images of poolside, beachside, or backyard sipping.
We believe that when you close your eyes a rosé should taste and feel like a white wine. The color is pale but piercing, and the body is imbued with a delicate fresh acidity. The delicate nose offers orange blossom, nectarine, and white tea. On the palate, one finds Wild Maine strawberry, wet stone, dried sage, mandarin, and watermelon. This wine is playful yet savory, and evokes images of poolside, beachside, or backyard sipping.
The 2021 growing season commenced with an early bud break followed by unseasonably cool spring and early summer temperatures, which helped preserve vineyard health as we entered a second year of drought conditions. Summer temperatures were moderated by the marine layer which allowed the grapes to mature slowly and consistently and resulted in wonderful depth of flavor and concentration in the generous harvest.
This release features a blend of 4 different Pinot Noir clones and is barrel fermented in neutral oak.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine can be enjoyed on its own, but also pairs beautifully with Tuscan Pecorino cheese or any brunch food. Our winemaker suggests the 2021 Avant-Garde Rosé of Pinot Noir with a lightly dressed salad such as Niçoise, Caprese, or burrata salad with fresh strawberries and mint will really bring out the character in the wine.
