2015 Pommard - Clonal Series
The nose offers baked cherry, cedar and clove-anise. On the palate, one encounters pomegranate, wild currant and blood orange. There is a savory spicy side as well, with a touch of tobacco leaf and a little bit of roasted coffee coming in at the end of the lengthy finish. Currently in California Pinot Noir there is a movement that pushes for a style of lower alcohol wine on the basis that "less is more". This is one wine that delivers a lot of delicate nuanced flavors in a low alcohol package.
