2015 Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay
Aromatically the wine is modest but harmonious showing honeysuckle, freshly cut hay, and pie-crust. The palate displays lemon meringue, fresh pear, and lychee which complements the long finish ending in warmly toasted coconut. Don’t be fooled by the exotic fruits, despite the partial malo-lactic fermentation the flavors are coiled around a firm core of natural acidity. This wine exhibits how fermentation in the Concrete Egg can lend texture and minerality to Chardonnay while delicately softening the edges of bright Carneros acidity. 167 cases produced.
